Description
Red Garden Paint’s Boiler Compound – A is specially
recommended for exterior use on surfaces of Boiler which are
exposed to indirect dry heating to maximum 250°C.It also
resists upto 55°C when exposed to mild salt water.
Surface preparation and application:
Proper surface preparation is the key to success in paints
application. Red Garden Paint’s . Boiler Compound –
A should be applied after removing all contaminants like oil,
grease and salt deposits. All loose millscale, rust and weathered
paints must be removed. If sand blasting is not practical,
full use to be made of mechanical tools. Galvanized metal
requires to be degreased thoroughly and acid etched before
painting.
Uses:
Red Garden Paint’s Boiler Compound – A can be
applied on Boiler front, chimneys, air-coolers, condensers
etc.
Application:
No separate primer is necessary. Apply first coat ( direct
to clean steel ) of Red Garden Paint’s . Boiler Compound
– A . Work well into the surface and ensure all corners,
edges, welds, nuts/bolts are covered. Do not apply a thick
coat to avoid run or sag. Allow minimum 16-18 hours for second
coat.
Subsequent coat may be applied by brush or roller. After the
last coat is applied , allow 16-18 hours to dry at room temperature
to allow solvent evaporation from the system. At this point
the coating is dry but not cured. It is essential for the
coating performance that the painted surfaces must be exposed
to gradual heating and the temperature must be kept to 100-120°C
for about 5 hours to yield a water repellant coating.
